SUPERVISOR OF THESES - NELLI BYKANOVA
TEACHERS WHO HAD A GREAT INFLUENCE ON ANTON SEREDIN NELLI BYKANOVA
Nelly Bykanova`s creative work, her years of study and creative development began when she studied at the Moscow Academic Art School in my workshop of painting and composition. Her works always showed bright abilities.
Her works were highly estimated by B. Ioganson and K. Yuon, who as the representatives of the USSR Art Academy and USSR Union of Painters bought paintings for new art museums in Russia. After summer practice Nelly Bykanova brought a lot of works demonstrating her exclusive for work.
V. Bakhsheev often noticed in Nelly Bykanova`s works subtle colours, harmony, poetical feeling of landscape.
After graduating from the Art School with a distinction she studied in the The Surikov Moscow State Art Institute and was awarded a personal I. Repin scholarship.
During summer practice Nelly Bykanova traveled all over the country: The North-Karelia, The Pechora, The Urals; Siberia-the Baikal Lake, Olkhon Island, Irkutsk Electricity Station, Bratsk Electricity Station; Far-East – Eastern, Central and Middle Asia; the Crimea, the Caucasus; the Big Volga.
Studying the theory of oil painting in the workso of old masters of the Renaissance, Nelly Bykanova wrote an article on technology of materials-“B.Ioganson`s skill”, in which the accent is made on the technology of the European artists of the Dresden Art Gallery and Russian artists P. Korin and M. Nesterov.
After graduating from the Institute in 1959, Nelly Bykanova works in the Moscow Art School as a teacher of drawing and composition successfully combining creative and pedagogical work.
In 1963 Nelly Bykanova held her first personal exhibition as a result of her creative trips (67 paintings).
Nelly Bykanova`s creative work embraces nearly all genres: portrait, still-life, landscape, easel painting.
She often makes portraits in which through one figure she shows a definite idea:”And all will start again”, “Tsiolkovsky”, Spring”, “Gravitation formula”. Everything she paints is very serious.
In all Nelly Bykanova`s works there is a strict composition and a big collection of preliminary material (albums with sketches).
Amazing is not only high professional skill but a quantity of sketches to her paintings:”In a bookshop” ,”On the Viaduct. Irkutsk Electricity Station”, ”Mountain climbers”, ”Virgin lands”.
In 1971 Nelly Bykanova was admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR and had a guarantee salary in the Art Combinate. More then 100 fairy tales were painted by her on the Combinate ordes. Working in the middle Asia Nelly Bykanova had to study eastern art, colour symbols, philosophy.
Her creative work was influenced frjm one side by professionalism of the European art, and from the other side by her studies of the east. Even in her still-lives appeared simplicity, special rhythm, plastics.
Her still-lives became more sense loaded: ”Music and flowers” ,”The violin”, ”Art objects”,”In the still-life fund”. Nelly Bykanova says:”Still-life a means of expressing complicated ideas of an artist about the world”.
A.Dubinchik, the chairman of estimation of paintings Committee once said:”When you look at her paintings, you see how simple but convincing and full of taste they are”.
Nelly Bykanova is a participant of all-union, republican, Moscow and foreign exhibitions. More then 20 of her paintings are bought by the USSR Art Academy and are shown in the art museums of the Union Republics.
Reproductions of her works were printed in newspapers and magazines”Moscow artist”, ”Ogonjek” ”Younost”.
A lot of works are in private collections in Russia and abroad: in England, Germany, Italy, the USA, Poland, France, Korea, Finland, China and other countries.
Nelly Bykanova has her own view on art and her own demands. She considers study of nature in sketches to be the basics of art. In her view a painting musr be built according to the strict rules of architectonics. Brightness must not turn into diversity and decorativeness into loudness of colours.
Through all artist`s creative work the landscape goes as a red line. It is connected with her creative trips. Her landscapes are very spiritual wherever are their origins: the strict North, the splendid South or the Tibet and ancient monuments.
Nelly Bykanova loves beautiful nature and wants to share its beauty with us. Her works are poetical and remarkable for musical harmony of colours.
Nelly Bykanova shares with us her rich spiritual world.
